Teacher Workshop: Exploring Plants Outdoors at Oakwoods Metropark - 106-3-7002

Join us for a morning of exploring spring wildflowers and plants outdoors on the Oakwoods nature trails to increase your background knowledge, then discover ways to build enthusiasm and student interest in plants through hands-on, place-based lessons. This workshop links to lessons and activities available in Metroparks Supplemental Science Learning Boxes that support Michigan Science Standards and are available to borrow from the Metroparks for free. Dress to be outdoors and bring a water bottle. Lunch and snacks will be provided. This workshop is open to Wayne County Science Teachers in Grades 3-8 and is made possible free of charge through a generous grant from the Russell Foundation. Participants will receive up to four State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs).

Ages: 3rd – 8th grade Teachers ages 21 and up.
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Cost: FREE!
Location: Oakwoods Metropark/Oakwoods Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. three days before the program. Pre-register online by checking the box of the program you would like to attend.
