Kayak Birding Basics - 104-1-1788

Scope out unique birds that love to hang out near the water with a leisurely paddling trip. We'll cover both kayaking and birding basics, so newbies are welcome. Grab a friend for this program and learn something together you can enjoy all summer long. Paddles, kayaks, and lifejackets provided.

A limited amount of mounted angled oars or wrist-grip paddle adaptations available for use. Would you need to reserve adaptive paddling equipment to participate in this program? Call 810-227-8917 or email [email protected]. Participants should be familiar with using the equipment because we will not have staff available to assist with transfers into and out of kayaks or to instruct using adaptive equipment. You can learn more about these at https://www.metroparks.com/kensington-metropark/#accessibility.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. No prior experience is necessary.  If you are using adaptive paddle equipment, you must have prior experience with it and be able to use it on your own.
