Birding for Beginners - 104-1-1003

Whether you’re looking to start a new hobby or to hone your birding skills, we’re here to help! We will begin at the Kensington Nature Center with a focus on binocular use and basic bird identification. Then we’ll enjoy a short, guided walk on the trails to visit a few birding locations in the nature area.
What to Expect:
This program starts indoors, ends outside. Most of this 1.5 hour program time will be spent walking. Expect to walk about 1 mile. We will conclude at the Nature Center Parking Lot. The planned path is dirt and gravel, frequently rolling or slightly hilly, includes some bridges and boardwalks and is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. No prior experience is necessary. For maximum enjoyment, some of our program time will require all participants to patiently remain quiet and listen closely.

Ages: Children 12 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Time: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
Location: Kensington Metropark, Nature Center
