Wetlands Walk - 104-1-1786

Have you ever wondered about the wetlands in Michigan? There are three different kinds of wetlands in Kensington that you can come and learn about! Find out what makes a fen different from a marsh and a marsh different from a swamp while we explore the unique plants and surroundings you can find in wetlands that you won’t see in regular forests.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately 1 hour, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk about 1 mile. The planned path is dirt and gravel, mostly flat and level and includes some bridges and boardwalks. No prior experience is necessary.

Ages: 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Time: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
Location: Kensington Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
