Birding for Beginners - 115-1-1747

Whether you’re looking to start a new hobby or to hone your birding skills, we’re here to help! Learn about field markings, judging size, how to choose a field guide and more. We will begin with a focus on binocular use and basic bird identification. Then we’ll enjoy a short, guided walk on the trails to visit a few birding locations in the nature area.
What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately one hour, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk about 1.5 miles. We will conclude at Indian Springs Park Office. The planned path is dirt and gravel, suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, with frequently rolling or slightly hilly, includes some bridges and boardwalks. No prior experience is necessary. For maximum enjoyment, some of our one hour program time will require all participants to patiently remain quiet and listen closely.

Time: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
