Volunteer Day for National Hiking Day - 116-1-1605

Join us to celebrate National Hiking Day at Huron Meadows Metropark! The beautiful natural areas we see while hiking in our Metroparks are protected and managed by Natural Resource staff and others. In honor of National Hiking Day, we will take a 3/4 mile hike to learn about these natural areas and the work being done to preserve them. Then, you’ll get a chance to make an impact by working to preserve a treasured forest ecosystem.

All necessary tools and equipment will be provided. We will provide gloves, but feel free to bring your favorite pair! Please be sure to dress for working outdoors and off-trail in areas that may include poison ivy (long pants, layered clothing, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, etc.). Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water!

Ages: 12 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Cost: Free!
