Spotlight On: Fireflies - 108-1-1801

Catch fireflies for a cause. Get your nostalgia-fix and help the planet at the same time, by taking photos of caught fireflies to send to firefly scientists. Be part of a national community science effort to help decide if these iconic bugs are endangered or healthy. No experience necessary, except being able to catch a bug!

What to Expect: This program starts indoors, ends outside. The time outside, approximately 40-minutes, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk less than 1 mile. The planned path is grass or lawn and frequently rolling or slightly hilly. No prior experience is necessary. Time includes personal or small group discussion. For maximum enjoyment, some of our 1-hour program time will require all participants to patiently remain quiet and listen closely.
