Volunteer Workday for World Wetlands Day - 115-1-1880

Join the Natural Resources crew to celebrate World Wetlands Day by helping to improve the wetland ecosystems around Indian Springs Metropark. Known as the headwaters of the Huron, this special place is a complex of wetlands that begins the Huron River. We will remove invasive shrubs to preserve wetland habitat and nearby ecosystems, and volunteers will learn about how their work enhances natural areas around the park.

All necessary tools and equipment will be provided. We will provide gloves, but feel free to bring your favorite pair! Please be sure to dress for working outdoors and off-trail in areas that may include poison ivy (long pants, layered clothing, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, etc.). Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water too!

Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
