Join us for the Metroparks Trail Challenge! This is the perfect way to challenge yourself to get out to all 13 Metroparks and explore new trails. Each Metropark has a specific Challenge Trail for you to visit and earn incentives.

To keep track of what Challenge Trails you have hit, and to manage incentive levels, you will log your Challenge Trail visits to our online leaderboard. You will simply use your smart phone to submit a form and upload a selfie while out on the Challenge Trails by the kiosks.

The cost to participate is $25 per person and you get a custom Trail Challenge blanket and Metroparks passport book for signing up.

You can earn additional incentives as you visit Challenge Trails. Challenge Trails have a specially placed kiosk with scannable QR codes along it, where you will take a selfie to upload with your information to the leaderboard. Each Challenge Trail you visit earns you a special badge on the online leaderboard. When you earn 3 badges you will earn a custom tote bag and if you earn all 13 badges you will earn a 2025 Metroparks Annual Vehicle Pass so you can keep exploring the trails for another year. These incentives will be mailed to registered participants in November.

The Trail Challenge will run from May 1 to October 31, but registration will close on October 24 to give you time to complete Challenge Trails and add them to the Leaderboard. Details on how to register for the leaderboard, pick up your blanket and log your Challenge Trails will be attached to your receipt upon registration, so make sure to check your inbox. Remember, a Metroparks annual or daily vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark.

Time: All trails are open during regular park hours.

Location: Complete trails in any Metropark and challenge trails in every Metropark.

You can register for the Trail Challenge anytime between May 1 – October 24.
