Nighttime Nature - 109-1-1743

Nighttime at Stony Creek Metropark offers new opportunities for outdoor nature exploration. Each month, meet our naturalists at the nature center for a short presentation and then we'll head out in the dark. From owls to bats to gazing at the moon, come celebrate nature's night shift.

January 12 -- Nighttime Nature: New Moon, 6-7:30 p.m.
January 26 -- Nighttime Nature: Full Moon, 6- 7:30 p.m.
February 23 -- Nighttime Nature: Full Moon, 6- 7:30 p.m.
March 15 -- Nighttime Nature: Woodcock Walk, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
April 5 -- Nighttime Nature: Frog Chorus, 7- 8:30 p.m.
August 16 -- Nighttime Nature: Fireflies, 8- 9:30 p.m.
September 20 -- Nighttime Nature: Bats Abound, 7- 8:30 p.m.
October 25 -- Nighttime Nature: Owls, 6- 7:30 p.m.
November 15 -- Nighttime Nature: Owls, 5-6:30 p.m.
December 20 -- Nighttime Nature: Winter Solstice, 5-6:30 p.m.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately 75 minutes, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk from 1/2 mile to 1.5 miles. The planned path surface is gravel and occasionally steep. For maximum enjoyment, some of our program time will require all participants to patiently remain still, quiet, and listen closely.
