Teacher Workshop: Birds/Ornithology at Lake Erie Marshlands Museum - 9/14 – 9:30am

Join us for a morning birding and exploring the marsh of Lake Erie Metropark, then discover ways to build student interest and enthusiasm in birding and ornithology through hands-on, place-based lessons. This workshop links to lessons, materials, and activities available in Metroparks Supplemental Science Learning Boxes that support the Michigan Science Standards that are available to borrow for free. After the workshop you’ll have the skills and confidence you need to utilize the Supplemental Science Learning Box and lead your students in birding and ornithology activities. Dress to be outdoors and bring a water bottle. Lunch and snacks will be provided. This workshop is open to Wayne County Science Teachers in Grades K-3 and is made possible free of charge through a generous grant from the Russell Foundation.
