Seed Sale & Swap
Seed Sale & Swap
Join us for a seed swap! A seed swap is an event where gardeners exchange seeds with each other. This is a great chance to discover new seed varieties and meet fellow gardeners in your community. Don’t have any seeds? That’s ok- you do not need to bring seeds to attend. If you do have seeds or related items to sell or give away, that’s great! We will supply tables and chairs for you to set up your items to sell.
Native Michigan seeds such as milkweed, lupine, coneflowers, grasses and more will be available from the Metroparks! All seeds were collected from plants growing in Indian Springs Metropark. This is the perfect opportunity to create your own native garden that will help support local wildlife.
Sellers:
· If you have seeds to sell or give away, it is up to you to package and price them (if selling) as you see fit.
· It is the seller’s responsibility to have a method of collecting payment, whether it be cash, credit card, PayPal, Venmo, etc. Consider creating an account with PayPal and/or Venmo prior to the event to allow for easy payments from buyers.
· Sellers must provide their own display materials, signs, envelopes, jars, bags, or any other necessary supplies.
· Set up for sellers begins between 9-10am. The event starts at 11am.
· Please be prepared to stay for the entire length of the event (11am-2pm) and clean up your table after the event is over at 2pm.
Shoppers:
· Attend anytime between 11am and 2pm.
· You might want to bring some cash as the sellers may not have a way to process credit card payments.
· Bringing a reusable bag to hold your purchases is also recommended.
We need the community’s help to make this event a success! Please spread the word and consider bringing extra seeds to share.
Pre-registration is required. There is no fee to participate in or attend the seed swap, but a Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark.
