Details for Science Olympiad: Amazing Arthropods II

Overview:
During this Session 2 workshop, students will dive deeper into the Arthropods Species List; discuss how to visually recognize and describe the unique physical and behavioral characteristics, metamorphosis, feeding characteristics, conservation of species, and economic impacts. Teams will be able to test their knowledge in a “mock event” using the Science Olympiad tournament format. The Nature Center will have coach-led study stations set up for teams to try out their existing knowledge.

What to Expect:
These participatory classes primarily take place indoors and are interactive. These sessions are specifically designed for the student participants to ask and answer questions, and we encourage adult coaches, chaperones, and parents to supportively observe.

Ages: Children 7-12. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Time: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. & 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $6 per child, adults and coaches are Free!
Location: Lake St. Clair Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
