Overview:
Our Shakedown Hikes are a great way to get out and stretch your legs on a longer hike. If you’re training for an event or trip, feel free to bring your packed backpack. We’ll aim to cover 6-8 miles in two hours, but it will depend on the weather and the group. (Note: Scout troops and others interested in a similar program can call the nature center and arrange a shakedown hike for their group!)

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. We will conclude at our destination: Stony Creek Metropark Nature Center. The time, approximately 120 minutes, will be spent walking. Expect to walk from 6-8 miles. The planned path surface is dirt and gravel and includes some rugged or steep terrain.

Ages: 16 and up.
Time: 10 a.m. – noon
Cost: $5 per child, $5 per adult
Location: Stony Creek Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
