Join us for a guided exploration of the unique habitats and seasonal nature happenings at Stony Creek Metropark. Each month we’ll meet at the nature center, learn about the season and what we might see or hear in the woods, fields, and ponds; and then head out on a hike to discover the wildlife and plants that call Stony Creek Metropark home.

April 6 – Nature Discovery Hike: Vernal Pools

June 1 – Nature Discovery Hike: Nesting Bald Eagles
July 6 – Nature Discovery Hike: Creek Wading

September 7 – Nature Discovery Hike: Massasauga Rattlesnake
October 5 – Nature Discovery Hike: Plant Defense

What to Expect:
This program starts indoors, ends outside. The time, approximately 75 minutes, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk from ½ mile to 1.5 miles. The planned path surface is gravel and occasionally steep. For maximum enjoyment, some of our program time will require all participants to patiently remain still, quiet and listen closely.

Ages: 8 and up.
Time: 10 a.m. – Noon
Cost: $5 per child, $5 per adult
