Overview:Nighttime at Stony Creek Metropark offers new opportunities for outdoor nature exploration. Each month, meet our naturalists at the nature center for a short presentation and then we’ll head out in the dark. From owls to bats to simply enjoying the moon, we’ll celebrate nature’s night shift. January 12 – Nighttime Nature: New Moon, 6-7:30 p.m.January 26 – Nighttime Nature: Full Moon, 6-7:30 p.m.February 23 – Nighttime Nature: Full Moon, 6-7:30 p.m.March 15 – Nighttime Nature: Woodcock Walk, 7-8:30 p.m.April 5 – Nighttime Nature: Frog Chorus, 7-8:30 p.m.August 16 – Nighttime Nature: Fireflies 8-9:30 p.m.September20 – Nighttime Nature: Bats Abound, 7-8:30 p.m.October 25 – Nighttime Nature: Owls, 6-7:30 p.m.November 15 – Nighttime Nature: Owls, 5-6:30 p.m.December 20 – Nighttime Nature: Winter Solstice, 5-6:30 p.m.What to Expect:This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately 75 minutes, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk from ½ mile to 1.5 miles. The planned path surface is gravel and occasionally steep.
