Overview:
Explorer’s Club is a monthly program for your 6 to 14-year-olds to learn about Michigan’s native species. We’ll cover everything from plants, to animals, to insects and everything in-between! Each month will have a specific theme or topic, but we will learn and explore inside and outside each month. The trails are mixed dirt and gravel; and will vary in distance between 0.75 – 2 miles depending on trail conditions and activity.

January 7 – Explorer’s Club: Tracks and Scats
February 4 – Explorer’s Club: Vernal Pools
March 4 - Explorer’s Club: Making a Makuk
April 1 – Explorer’s Club: Amphibian Walk
May 6 – Explorer’s Club: Seed Dispersal
June 3 - Explorer’s Club: What’s that Bug
July 1 – Explorer’s Club: Hiking Sticks
August 5 – Explorer’s Club: Butterflies
September 2 – Explorer’s Club: Dragonflies
October 7 – Explorer’s Club: Orienteering
November 4 – Explorer’s Club: Fire Building
December 2 – Explorer’s Club: Animals in Winter

Ages: Children 6 – 14.
Time: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Cost: $4 per child
Location: Oakwoods Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
